Thanks for the reply gary. That's what I thought and it sucks Sad I had another screen that is the same and I ripped off two ribbons to see if I could do something but it looks there is no way to put them back. It really sucks because this happened during the replacement of the buffer board which I later find out didnt need to be replace, if I didnt touch that I would of fixed the plasma completely Sad

Might as well just buy a new TV set since the PDP is worth more probably than buying a new one.

unfortuanetly that ribbon is an integral part of the plasma panel and is not replaceable on its own. you will need to replace the complete PDP.

Hi everybody,

Im new to this forum so hello! Smile

I was attempting to fix my Phillips 50PFP5332D/37 plasma screen with parts from another one that I had laying around (thanks to phillips warranty service I got stuck with two bad tv's but atleast I got my money back).

So I "succesfully" fixed one of the TV's with components from the other but during the process I broke one of the flat cables that comes from the screen and I have one line on the TV that is dead, besides that everything works perfectly.

I would like to know, I have another screen that I could take this cable off from and replace it on the working screen but it looks like this is "glued" to the screen and no way to remove it. Am I correct? If it is I pretty much screwed myself because I learned later that the buffer board had no issues and I didn't even need to replace it and during the buffer board replacement is when I broke this cable Sad I really think ill have to throw the TV away as the only solution will be to get a new screen which are really really expensive.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Here is a picture of what I broke.
