Thanks for the reply gary. That's what I thought and it sucks I had another screen that is the same and I ripped off two ribbons to see if I could do something but it looks there is no way to put them back. It really sucks because this happened during the replacement of the buffer board which I later find out didnt need to be replace, if I didnt touch that I would of fixed the plasma completely
Might as well just buy a new TV set since the PDP is worth more probably than buying a new one. |

unfortuanetly that ribbon is an integral part of the plasma panel and is not replaceable on its own. you will need to replace the complete PDP. |

|
Hi everybody,
Im new to this forum so hello!
I was attempting to fix my Phillips 50PFP5332D/37 plasma screen with parts from another one that I had laying around (thanks to phillips warranty service I got stuck with two bad tv's but atleast I got my money back).
So I "succesfully" fixed one of the TV's with components from the other but during the process I broke one of the flat cables that comes from the screen and I have one line on the TV that is dead, besides that everything works perfectly.
I would like to know, I have another screen that I could take this cable off from and replace it on the working screen but it looks like this is "glued" to the screen and no way to remove it. Am I correct? If it is I pretty much screwed myself because I learned later that the buffer board had no issues and I didn't even need to replace it and during the buffer board replacement is when I broke this cable I really think ill have to throw the TV away as the only solution will be to get a new screen which are really really expensive.
Thanks for your help in advance!
Here is a picture of what I broke.
