hi there

i have a sony rear projection tv kp-41ds1u with a power fault.

i turned the tv on one day and nothing happened. tyhe standby light flicks on then disapers and there is a click from the back of the tv which i thing could be relays or trip switches?
I have tested all fuses and they check out ok. the transformer works ok too. there are no dry solder joints but there is a buzzing noise coming from one of the capacitors. there are two big capacitors on the power board one bigger than the other, is one for start up and one for running? the larger one kicks out some voltage but the smaller one dont.i am only a apprentice in electronics and i am stuck on this problem. any help would be great including curcuit diagrams as i cant find these anywhere.

Don't try to fix it if you don't know how a switching PSU works!SONY PSU-s much more complicated then others with it's protect circuits, so it's not easy
to find the wrong part for a SONY mechanicer /like me / as well.
Turn to a specialist near you, that's the cheapiest way , believe me.

/The bigger cap. is the 350V buffer, if it's there, it shows only the primer voltage .Anyway, it can a lot other cause not only the psu.The psu is controlled by the SYSCOM panel, and if the led blinks, the syscom closes the power itself./
