Oned you describe is for locking the item to a large object so someone doesn't walk off with it.
I usually use as thin, flexible blade, 1" wide putty knife to remove computer monitor cases.

I've searched for manuals and disassembly instructions for the 214T case with no luck. Found a couple of similar models described and they both say use a 'jig' to open the case. There is a small rectangular opening in the lower central back which has a padlock icon inscribed on my case. Is that for the jig and can I make a jig or, how do I safely open the case?
