Will it tune into a medium wave station if so check that aerial is connected to main board its a wire that goes from rod on set to the circuit board

Hey there

I am trying to repair a panasonic rx d15 stereo boombox.

Everything works except the radio wont actually tune into stations. it lights up on the lcd but when i tune into certain stations there is a hiss on the speakers but wont tune into actual stations.....


I am suspecting that tuner thing with the cotton wool wrapped around it?

I dont have the schematic...........how do I test that tuner thing?
