| Then it is more likely a cracked solder connection on the power supply board. Inspect the solder using high magnification and look for hairline cracks. | |

| Sorry I had been away. Thanks for all the replies.
The model is TCL PDP42U3H. I doubt it is Heat/Cold problem because sometime it took more than a week for the TV to work again. The TV should be completely cold after a day. To take so long for a component to work again, it seems to me that it is a slow discharging component. js  |

| You could first check to see if it is related to Heat / Cold. If the set always comes back to normal after it has cooled off, that might be your problem. Go to your local electronic repair shop and buy a can of "Cold Spray" or use a can of compressed air in the upside down position. Run the set until the picture is just starting to go, then spray a few components at a time (to cool it off) while watching the picture. | I have an old plasma 42" TV. It only works for about 2 hours; it losses color first and then completely blackout.
After a few of days, it works again. Its power supply board USP490M-42LP was replaced, together with remote control board, 2 years ago. I thought that it must be a chargeable component causing the trouble. Anybody has the similar experiences and could knidly help me to identify the component? js |
