That's what's SUPPOSED to happen when you power this unit on! Initially it goes into sleep mode (most people leave it in this mode when not in use). You need to then power it on (AGAIN) using the remote!
If there was a problem when powering on from sleep mode, you would notice an "error" display on the front panel and/or monitor connected to unit!
