| It all depends on what has been damaged? In situations like that you'd never know until you actually tear in to the unit. Usually the front end of the power supply such as a choke/ transformer along with rectifiers is what goes first. If you have a switching power supply (more likely), there may be more. Even if you did get in to it, how would you get any parts? | |

| Hello all, I've got a problem I was hoping someone would be able to help me with. I bought a Harman/Kardon speaker set. It's five speakers with a subwoofer. Well, unfortunately, a friend of mine plugged in the sub woofer to a 220 slot when it was rated only to 110. Needless to say, the sub woofer now doesn't work. What's even more unfortunate is that while it is still under warranty, I'm living in Pakistan on assignment and can't find a place to fix it, let alone for someone to honor the warranty. My question is this, can I do the repairs myself? Surely this can't be beyond the mind of man? Thanks for your help ahead of time! Cheers. Kash |
