I do have an older Braun(not the exact model) which I use daily. Unless there is something special about this model, you may have a problem with the shaver? Sounds like the battery/light sequence is behaving like it supposed to and you should be able to turn it. The initial x hour charge usually has to do with battery conditioning. I'd still try the 4 hour before calling it a defect or better yet try any of the online customer svc numbers.

I recently purchased a Braun EP100 shaver for my OH's birthday, I wanted to charge it before I gave it to him so popped it on charge this morning. I then went to try it out, but found I couldn't get it to work.

The green LED is on comfirming that it is on charge and plugged in. The shaver has a memory setting which I've read some people have found complicated, the only thing I can think of it that I've been turning it on incorrectly with regards to this.

Do I have the wrong end of the stick and will it need the first whole 4 hours charge before it will even turn on?

Any help would be much appreciated as I'm worried I've been left with a faulty birthday present that I may have to return to Amazon merchant abroad and try to replace it before the birthday in 2 weeks!

EDIT - I just went to check the shaver after posting this topic and found that the charging light had gone out, but it still wouldnt work and definitely wouldn't be charger after 15 minutes first charge. I unplugged it, and put it back on charge again and the light came back on but went out a couple of minutes later. Could this be down to the shaving plug adapter which I'm using, or the shaver?
