| Hi,
I have a Vizio VX32L LCD TV. There are quite a few posts around the internet with this same problem - a loud noise, then no picture, no sound. The power button turns the VIZIO logo on the TV from orange to white, which normally indicates "power on". But now, it goes white, but nothing else and you can't power it off. You have to unplug the TV. I'd like to give it a go to repair, since Vizio wants $275 plus shipping for a flat-rate repair. From reading a variety of forums, it seems as if the problem is either the power supply board OR the main board. A power supply board is about $60, so it's worth it. But a mainboard is around $160, and I can't find a place (yet) that will sell me both and allow me to return the unneeded one. I do not know how to test the power supply board for output voltage as some forums have mentioned - I don't know what connector to check for "output" - there are 2 edge connectors with 10-12 pins on them that go to the main board, so I don't have enough electronics background to know which pins to test. Any advice as to which board is most likely would be appreciated. Ron |
