|
I just bought a Philips BDP3100 BluRay player. It works fine for DVD and VCD disks, it plays in colour. For BD's it is different, if I insert a BD disk, it changes to balck/white picture. And stays that way, even if i remove teh disk. Even the setup and menu's stay in blackwhite untill I switch of and on again. The tv is a normal CRT one. I use the composite scart input from the tv, the compisite output on the player. I connected the player also to small size multi system tv. It seems that when i play DVD, the video output is in PAL, and if I play BD, the video output signal is NTSC. My tv does not recognize NTSC, so goed to blackwhite. That seems logical? But why does the BD player respond like this? Depends on the disk? Are there PAL BD's and NTSC BD's. There is NO indication on the BD's (text like PAL or NTSC printed on disk or box). I tried ten different BD's => same result. I tried two cables between BDplayer and TV. I tried two scart input's. All the same. Between () are there differences in DVD for PAl and NTSC. I have many DVD's they all have text PAL on them. Is there a way to change the BD player's composite output? There is nothing in the setup menu's for this. Like there is for the component video outputs (Y Pb Pr) or the HDMI outyput, they can be altered in the setup. |
