Some equipment will not work with universal remotes but for now assume it does.
If you can't locate the code in the list provided all remotes have a search method to locate codes not on the list and you should try this if your model is not listed or call the helpline in the booklet.
Is the problem with the original remote or the dvd?
Using another remote that you know is working get hold of a standard radio with manual dial tuning and select the M.W band. Point the known working remote at the top or back of the radio (depends on where the internal aerial is) and while pushing a button of your choice adjust the tuning dial until loud blips are heard. this is not fool proof but gives you an idea if working. Now try with the original one to see if similar results obtained (you may need to adjust the dial again a little).
If not working open original and clean circuit board/rubber keypad and check the battery connections, infrared emitter diode and crystal connections for dryjoints and try again.
If the original is working the dvd could have a problem but try this first.
