I don't think replacing the socket would help and didn't realise you already replaced the scart cable. It is just that It worked for me usually by replacing the scart cable complete with a higher quality type.
This has happened with new scart leads that were of poor quality. |

Thank you very much for the hint. If it is the SCART lead,
what would you suggest (since replacing the cable didn't work)?
Do you think resoldering or replacing the TV SCART connector
would be needed? |

I have experienced similar symptoms with other brands using a satellite receiver connected instead of a dvd with the terrestrial broadcast being superimposed in the background and it was usually the scart lead except for one time that I remember and was a switching i.c but this was on a different t.v.
I would also avoid gold plated scart leads unless you have gold plated sockets as these have also caused problems.
Just a thought. |

I have a Philips 29PT8607 (chassis EM2E) TV, that has the
following bizzare problem:
When connecting a DVD player to the SCART-RGB input,
one TV broadcasting chanel seems to interfere with the
DVD image! High frequency patrts (subtitles) are especialy
visible! When I disconected the antena cable, the whole
RGB image becomes noisy!!
Does anyone have any idea, or is this an inherent problem
of the TV design?
Thank you. |
