Generally, it is completely impossible to read data out from code protected PIC microcontrollers, except for the very earliest ones. In the mid-90's, when it turned out that the protection of the 16C5x microcontrollers was not as safe as expected, Microchip introduced a lot of new features to increase the security of their newer series. For instance, the flash rom array is buried in the chip so it is not possible to access its buses even with micromanipulator probes.

In your case, it is probably easier to study what the microcontroller is supposed to do and write your own software performing the same task.

Dear friends,
I have a PIC16F72 based motor control circuit,I want to copy this chip information(*.hex) to another chip for future,I m tried to contact its manufacturer address / number, but failed.so let me know the Technic to copy this.I think this chip code is protected. I have a PIC / ATMEL copier.

Thanks and regards
