Can someone help?
My KR-A4030 has an annoying intermittent loss of sound in both channels. It's not a contact fault. When I touch one the first amplifiers transistors (Q301-Q304) it's like some current is injected and it returns to work fine. After some time the sound fades away in one of the channels, or both or continues to work. I don't have the schematics to help me.

There are many suppliers such as Digikey, Mouser, Newark, Allied ..etc |

| Most of the kenwoods used a backup capacitor to hold the memory. Classic symptoms are what you describe. Do not have the specific diagram but the backup capacitor is usually located on the display PC board close to main micro processor IC. Small button capacitor rated anywhere from .1 to .47 FARAD in capacitance. After certain lenght of time it either leaks or dries out.--very common issue. |

| My Kenwood KR-A4030 receiver will no longer hold the preset stations once it is turned off. It always goes back to the factory default frequencies. Is this a battery or capacitor problem? Not sure where to look. |
