ANY STRANGE FAULT ON A PHILIPS A10E CHASSIS TV IS USUALLY CURED BY REPLACING THE PAINTER IC, IC7064 ON THE SMALL SIGNAL PANEL, MAKE SURE YOU FIT THE CORRECT VERSION OF UPDATED SOFTWARE.

I recently inherited a Philips 28” Widescreen (28PW6305) TV with a strange fault.

Basically it works perfectly until you plug a source into either SCART or the SVHS port, then roughly after 10 minutes it turns its self onto standby with the Red LED flashing (its not a precise flash, it goes dim then bright). Powering cycling the TV resets the fault and it will again be fine for around 10 minutes.

I have tried different sources; DVD, Cable, PC.. etc none of which make a difference. It still goes to standby.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Dave
