There are no universal programmers for reprogramming a flash memory in-circuit, such reprogramming is usually done by the target system's own microcontroller and software. However, most recent microcontrollers with integrated flash memory can be reprogrammed using JTAG or a similar interface provided by the microcontroller manufacturer - if the board designer has made provisions for it, connected the programming signals to accessible testpoints, not used those signals for other uses in the circuit and so on. All "universal" programmers require that the memory device is out-of-circuit. |
