| This 30-year old amp was working fine until after our move to a new house. I packed it in its original box and hand carried it, so I don't think it was bumped or jarred. However, when I hooked up some speakers, tuner, and tape deck (using the same speaker wire), the sound is very low -- even with the volume knob turned to an unusually high level. Same result whether speakers are connected to output Speakers A or B. The speakers work fine on different amp. In the old house, the amp was the main part of a more complicated system involving a sound field processor and a secondary amp which ran surround sound speakers. I haven't tried recreating that setup because I didn't think it would make any difference in the performance of the main amp. Any ideas of where to look for the problem? |
