Zarekmanuals...............
Very High prices and no descriptions of what the files actually are. Poor spelling and grammer, no instructions on how to buy or download.
In general, a poorly laid out and run site. I wouldn't have any confidence buying there

Paypal doesn't cover digital downloads. So there is no buyer protection.

well the site does look unprofessional. If he/she couldn't take the time to make his site at least look nice i doubt hes going to get much business.

I use OSCommerce on my justmanuals.com site, and I can tell you that it is one of the most customizable sites on the market. There are thousands of sites that use it. It is fully customizable in every way. It is also free. You can go to their site and download (also free) 1000's of enhancements and custom scripts. I would say it is the most widely used ecommerce website on the net.
There is another shopping cart called X-cart which I investigated before I decided on OS Commerce. X-cart is an almost exact clone of OSC, put out by some Russian company. Threre are also message boards on the OSC site so if you do have a question or problem, someone will answer it.

I know the script well and I have used it in the past. As you say its free and thousands can download it and play around with the strengths and the weaknesses of the script.

But my point still stands why does anyone need a description or a pretty picture when the title can say it all, if I was to say JVC PD-42DXT Service Manual then that's what it is. If I owned a PD-42DXT and I needed a service manual then I think the title tells me it what I need. Adding colour TV in the description is irrelevant as I already know what it is.

On my sites, the filename tells it all. If its just a service manual, then it says service. When its a parts & service manual the filename tells you. I don't do pretty pictures or cover pages, that stuff is just fluff. My customer's can page me on the site and chat with me if they have questions.

I use Cube Cart, seems a little easier than osCommerce, and it is free as well. www.hanselmusic.com. I use Simple Machines for my Foorum at www.hanselmusic.com/SMF
