Hi, I have a problem with sony kp-s4113 TV set.
Last few days on power ON the image was without focus for about 10 minutes and then slowly becomes OK.
Now it won't power ON any more and the power LED blinks rapidly after 25-30 sec. I have the service manual but it don't give any explanation.
Any idea what to do?
Waiting for a suggestion.....

no, just no focus before. Now I get the blinking which in the service manual say "no IK return". |

Another detail,
the red catode tube plug (on the PCB board) seems to be discharging inside - on the pin which comes from the focus setting board. Inside it is oxidated and have the signs of electrical discharge. I can also hear the buzz from there...
Other two plugs (on G and B tubes) are silver clear... |

I'd pull the anode lead out of the high voltage block and pull the crt board off the red tube and see if the set comes on. |

Removed the HT and CRT board but still the same thing. I have cleared the sparkling contacts and reduced the focusing voltage and the discharge disapeared, but it don't seem to change anything else. Other ideas ? (buy the new TV ) |

Turn all three screen controls down. It's either a bad screen/focus block or bad tube. |

Now the new problem subentered.
I have an EEPROM error signal ( two blinks of B LED), so the TV does not even start the HT etc...
I am not able to reset it (it doesn't goes to test menu).
Tomorrow I go on with reparation ...
BTW my service manual is without schematics, so I have to find the one with schematics. Someone who knows where to download it?
Minnie thank you very much for the help till now. |
