SONY TV KV29x1E-Occasional V.Distortion - shutdown 2 flashes

As stated above. Old 29" SONY KV-29X1E.

Excellent crisp picture when "warm".

At "cold"-start though - usually shows some picture deformation at the left side along with vertical blue lines/dots. Stabilizes after 10-15 mins and won't appear until next "cold"-start.

Lately though - if the distortion is to excessive - TV shuts down reporting 2 flashes. Starts right up again after a few seconds power off.

Any ideas?

common fault on theses sets is dry joints on line drive tx and surrounding components, usually results in line output transistor going short circuit if not remedied,
