Hi all, I have a projector that suddenly stopped working after a pop noise.

When I took it apart it seems that one of the circuit boards inside seems to have a charred area around one small component that cracked. This caused the fuse to blow.

I have no idea if this part can be fixed or if it's possible to buy a replacement. I'm not experienced with this but would be willing to take a crack at fixing it with some guidance if possible.

This picture shows the larger board with two smaller boards attached to it. The cracked piece is one one of these smaller attached boards. As you can see this large board has a sticker labeled "Sanyo 1AV4U20B39500"

Here you can see a close up of the cracked piece which is labeled "NEC K3294 15L". Some nearby pieces look pretty burnt too.

Thanks for any advice at all. I'd really appreciate some.

Don't you think that it might help if you also posted the manufacturer and model number of the projector?

Anyone know if this is something I can fix? Or should I just huck the projector?

I also found a reference sheet:

Thanks for that info Minnie. From that reference sheet it looks like the fried board is a piece of the "Lamp Ballast" part # A901. I wonder if there's a way to just get this part.

I'd contact the manufacture.

Would it also be possible to just find the component that burnt out and replace it on the circuit board?

If you can find a service manual, yes. Sanyo's link list 2 parts vendors for parts but the model doesn't pull up.

Three year warranty on the projector. How old is it?
