Hitachi 53fdx01b No video or audio

I have a 53" Hitachi model 53fdx01ba and the video and audio went out could be due to lightning. The red light on the front still comes on when powered up and you hear a small click sound like always. The green LED's in the back light up also.

Anybody got any ideas?

does this version have the discrete convergence circuit?
its a board on the right side of the set when looking from the back.
if there is a board there with a bunch of big heatsinks then thats it.

make sure ALL of the green led's are lit up.

actually im thinking of a different set altogether. sorry..
this is a much newer set than those that had the discrete convergence circuit
and its HD..

Mark you're on the right track. Try replacing your convergence ic’s. Don't forget to check the bias resistors around them also.

I went by a tv repair shop today and got a schematic for the power supply's. All the green LED light up on the pwsupply to the left and the red led light up on the main board powersupply. The tv repairman said since there are no green lights on the main board but the red light lights up he said it might be the IC STR-F6629B. What do you all think?

That's showing up as a JVC hybred ic. $56/ic. Are those the convergence ic's?

There are two ic's mounted on this metal heat sink and one of them is the STR-F6629b. There are two BIG Caps right next to is and the power plugs in very close by. Does that sound like the convergence ic's?

On the diagram of the ic str-f6629b says "start, reg,tso,triger,gvp dcp,drive" in a diagram format. if that helps.

One more thing if it matters. The red LED on the main pwr board (not the one mounted to the side on the right) kinda blinks it never goes totaly out but it is bright then a little dim then bright and then a little dim and so on... does that matter?
