i have a samsung ps50q97hd set in.

the tuner board was gone on the set so i replaced it with a spare tuner board out of the 42" version i already had.

on powerup was pretty sure screen looked ok no lines ( not 100% sure ) but cant remember seeing lines first time it was powered up with the new tuner. however i cant guarantee this.

powered off screwed board in place powered back up i noticed right side of screen is black and has some lines.

from first impressions looks like picture has shifted to the left.

screen is same on all inputs, osd works fine.

anyone advize what it might be or what the fault looks like. checked all cables and reseated.

thankyou

You put a digital main from a 42" in a 50". You need to change the option bytes to this panel.

I can't help on UK model. You have multiple option bytes to change. Panel size is just one.

thanks minnie,

i changed the 24c eeprom which had origanal service menu settings from the origanal tuner board into 42" board but it did not help.

should there be these thin colored lines on right side of screen with bottom buffer boards dissconnected?

as just wondering if it might be faulty panel or maybe somethink else.

hi minnie

on further investigation i have just noticed theres 470 surface mount resistors on the lower buffer boards controlling voltage to each ribbon i have noticed 8 of them are reading open circuit. and where they are is where the lines are on screen. ( the 2 banks of 4 are reading open, 3 470 resistors and diode )

do you think it would fix problem if i changed them ?
