PS dead in 32" LCD (5v 12v 24v)..Can I replace with lin

The switching power supply is toast on this TV, and in several pieces after hours of frustration! Not interested in purchasing a new one or repair.
Can I create a standard linear power supply which provides these DC voltages (transformer + rectifiers)? I found a transformer strong enough, and love improvising solutions, however my knowledge of LCD television power supply theory is weak. Pardon my possible ignorance, but is it as simple as feeding in the 5, 12 , and 24 volts where the outputs of the old board was?

I am a realitive novice with LCD TVs, but have been working on LCD Monitors and TVs enough to know that it isn't as cut and dry and just add the power to it. Someone else can back me on this.
In most TVs, there not only is power going from the PS to the main board, and or video board, but there is also feedback lines that go back to the PS to signal power good or over voltage protection. etc. So I don't think you will be successful. But if this TV is destined for the trash then maybe try it and let me know.

If it's a very simple supply with the three voltages you mention and ONLY has a power supply turn-on line (which IS behaving normally) then its simply a matter of providing the three different voltages. Hopefully at the current stated on the supply (or Higher) and connecting to the appropriate connectors/pins.
