Is it possible to replace the tip on the ac adpaptor that plugs into my (dell) laptop? The wires that connect the tip to the adaptor have frayed and the adaptor is no longer supplying power to the computer. This is the fourth adaptor I've had in three years, and all have developed the same problem. If it cannot be repaired, is there a way to reinforce the connection to the tip to prevent this problem in the future? |

Just resolder a new connector to the low voltage wire.
Using some different sizes heat shrink tubing, you should be able to re-enforce the connector so it will not break so easy.
