Hi,
Model 50PFP5532D/05 Phillips Plasma is going into protection mode when switching on. Only 18 months old and had little use. Does anybody know if this a common problem ?? Also any ideas on a reputable company to repair TV in Blackpool area.
Thanks

Look for the bulged caps on the power supply. They should be 1000uf@16 volts put in 1000uf@25 volts.

Were they bulged and did you watch the polarity of the caps?

Hi Minnie, no the caps were not bulged, I got the polarity right tho! Have done a bit of electronics study but latest tv faults a bit lean on! I will take the back off again and run it live (being very careful!) and listen to where the double click is coming from. I will also carefully (not live) check all the parts for burning/bulging. Any help would be good, am willing to pay for getting it running again but limited funds!
