I have no sound and a white horizontal line in the center of the screen. Also if I put my arm in front of the screen it will not raise the hair on my arm. Is this just a vertical IC problem or a bad fkyback.

If the flyback were totaled, you wouldn't be able to see a line.
Is there anything common to the vertical and sound? Like a power source maybe. _________________ You're over there, I'm over here. |

jts1957I ran out of time yesterday and didn't get a chance to check voltages. I will do that today, I was concerned that the picture tube didn't seem to have static electricity. Would that mean low votage some where? |

Voltages are high at the vertical chip, I also found three of the pins on the chip with poor solder joints. Fixed the solder joints and now all I get is a high whine from the SMPS and nothing on the picture tube, and still no sound. All the diodes test good, resistors good, I haven't checked the HOT yet. Been looking for a good way to test it, I tested the Mosfet with my Cricket and an ohm meter and it tested bad. But a new one has the same test results. So I am still reading and digging! |

27 volts on pin 2 of vertical output IC? And since SMPS whines when IC is fully soldered, have you tried another chip? _________________ You're over there, I'm over here. |
