|
|
I have an old Pioneer VSX-D1S A/V Receiver which I love, but one day the speaker relays that disconnect the speakers at power-up refused to reconnect.
This is so frustrating because otherwise the unit works perfectly, but without sound it's useless. Could someone point me in the right direction for where to look inside the receiver? I think I know which relay is not working, but I'm not sure if it's the relay or other circuitry controlling it. It's also almost impossible to get at.
I have the service manual for it but I would need a plotter to print it out.
Any help would be much appreciated. |

Either the speaker relay drive circuitry has a fault or the speaker relay is doing one of its jobs and NOT letting the speakers connect because a speaker would have a DC voltage applied to it due to a defective left (or right) channel fault. _________________ You're over there, I'm over here. |

How would I go about checking that? |

Check for a DC voltage on any of the four contact terminals {~} (NOT coil of relay terminals{.}). Anything more than a volt, you have a problem with that channel.

Thanks. I'll try that and get back to you with my findings. |
