I have a JVC A-GX2 stereo integrated amplifier in my living room that needs to be fixed. The unit powers on, but it doesn't produce any sound from any inputs (CD, radio, tape, etc). It used to make a clicking noise when it was powered on, indicating that it was ready...but now it no longer does that. Can anyone offer any help? Thanks!

Hi Mo, sounds like your amp is in protection/shutdown mode. Probably due to a shorted or otherwise defective output transistor or transistors. The clicking you heard was a relay conneting the speakers to the out put of the amp. If the protection circuit sees any voltage on the output leads it will not connect to the speakers. The votage it sees is caused by the failure in the output satge. I hope this helps. Finding the bad components may be beyond your fix.
