> Model PV-DM2792.

I have reset and tried many different things to get a picture. No Luck. I have connected another TV to the cable and it work great. I can also see and do all the on screen setups without any problems.

>out which circuit board may need to be replaced

I believe it is one of the transistors or the inline power/ horizontal circuit components. Something in the power circuit is not allowing the transfer of power to the DVD or VCR. Test the High voltage transistor and the inline IC (usually 6-10 legs and attached to a heat sink upright- silver), The IC is black and is inline with the High Voltage Transistor. If that does not work try to see if their is a switching device of some kind leading to the DVD or VHS that is malfunctioning. Feel free to contact me if you want any other ideas, I am a bench tech with 18 or so years experience with everything from video games to gaming machines in Nevada casinos. Best of luck, be careful with the High voltage circuit........

As this is a combi and the DVD and VCR are playing back alright and on screen display is present on this t.v then basically the t.v is operational but does not operate with cable.
Unfortunately I am unfamiliar with the model or cable.
How is cable connected? If connected via R.F cable then Does this combi have a twin tuner for recording a programme while watching another?
If so have you tried watching programmes through the vcr tuner rather than the t.v tuner as I suspect the t.v tuner may not be set up correctly. If it was working alright before and set up can not be performed the tuner may have a fault or the supply to it may be missing.
If not via R.F then is cable connected using a scart/euro/phono connector?
If it has both then have you tried connecting with the other? providing the cable box is capable of supplying a composite video signal output also. _________________ If in doubt pull the plug out. |
