|
|
I have an older Panny rptv PT47wx53. One day the convergence on the hd 1080i channels broke, basically all four sides of the picture are bent "in" towards the middle and the three gun colours are way off.
Me and a friend replaced the convergence IC's, STK392-110 and inspected, tested and resoldered the IC resistors. The board itself looks ok too. There was no change once we replaced the board. The 1080i picture is still bad, the 480i and 480p are fine.
Any suggestions on what else might have broken and how we can test and replace it?
Thank you for any suggestions.

Did you go into the service menu and adjust the convergence in the 1080i mode? |

Yes, trust me regular adjustment is not the problem, the guns/convergence is really off, the bottom right crosshair cannot be overlapped. |

The DCU/convergence generator stores the information. If 480 is good and 1080 is bad, I would suspect a bad dcu. |

Thanks, I'll try to test/change that and see what happens. |

Sorry, I can't edit my previous post.
Is the DCU genertor a stand alone part or is it a chip on one of the boards? I have the service manual for the TV but it's missing the schematics and nowhere in the manual does it mention the DCU.
Thank you. |

Should be on the signal board as a stand up. |
