Sony kp61xbr48 was witnessed erupting into flames nearly taking the lives of an Orange County California family while sleeping. Need help!!! How did this happen?
The Sony rear projection kp61xbr48 TV caught fire on Dec 31st.2006 in the early hours, while the family slept. The fire dept. investigator confirmed the fire started inside of TV. In turn fire dept. contacted the dept.of consumer product safety. Who inspected the TV and agreed with the fire dept. You would think Sony would send some kind of help for these victims of this faulty product. Instead SONY sends a battery of Sony investigators who are sent from all over the country. To stand around and fiddle with the TV. These puppets didn't show up with lab suits and a lab van, like you would expect, especially when Sony’s paying these so called experts from $300 to $500 per hour. No these idiots showed up with a screwdriver, lunch and a million dollar motorhome! Oh and lets not forget the legal bullies from across the country!! This army of Sony showed up to investigate the TV. Feb.15th. 46 days after their product nearly took the lives of this family spent about three hours there. That’s counting their lunch!! The next day the lawyer from Philadelphia said the fire didn’t start from the TV! Saying the power cord was not burnt. So this Sony Corp. is basically calling The Orange County Fire Dept. The United States Dept. of Consumer Product Safety. And the man who saw flames coming from the TV. Liars? Idiot's exactly what is Sony doing here?? The family has no where to stay, so they have spent this entire winter with no windows or heat!!Thank's allot SONY! Please if anyone has any knowledge of how this TV caught fire, help! |

Sounds like the coolent in one of the Guns (tubes) Leaked onto your Standby board.Power supply area and This caused the Fire. When you Turn the TV off its Not off,Its in Standby mode.If something Fails in the set as your Sleeping, this can be a Problem.I have seen it meny Times as i Repair Sets for People.Ive seen Holes burnt through the Boards, ive seen parts get hot and Flames come off them.Without looking at this set myself i can't say What happend, but i can say that Sony Should Help this Famiely in some way and Replace the TV.
