|
|
I have been given a Samsung SP42W5HFX with a conversion fault.
I bought 2 IC chips and took the board to a repair service to replace them for me (very cheap option)
After bringing it back and putting the TV back together.
The conversion is still miles out and has a wave in it at the top.
Anything I can do to sort this out?
Also where could I get hold of a service manual?
I have entered the menu with mute 1-8-3
and tried to adjust the colours (did not do it for long, too scared...)
Any help would be most appreciated
Now have the service manual, and have adjusted, after turning off the red, the picture was clear (but obviously without red)
Does this mean the red IC chip needs changing again? although it has just been changed.
The red is miles out and makes a huge wave at the top
Thanks Trish |

Can you move the red at all in the service menu? |

You said the shop replaced the ic's, you need to check the resistors around the ic's ie RZ144 and RZ145 ect. You also need to check FD101 and FD102, there pico fuses and should be under the STK's heat sink if I remember correctly. |

Thank you.
The repair man said the fuses looked fine. They did not look burnt but I will check those
I could not have bought a broken STK 392-040 could I? or he broke it as he fitted it?
Thanks |

Also when I use the perfect focus button, I get the message "no sensor data" |

you need to check the 2 3.5 amp pico fuses and also check all 3.9 ohm resistors around ics. replace bad ones. the reason no sensor data is because you were into service mode and tried to save when still convergence fault present. |

I think they may be named differently here in the UK, but not sure.
Find lots of Axial lead fuses, but not quite what I am looking for.
I will ask the tech who put the chips in tomorrow.
Thanks Trish |
