Top Half Darker than Bottom and Flickering!!

Hi All,

I have a Sony KDL-32S2000 LCD TV. And a few days ago the top half of the screen got dark, and it started to flicker. I tried to do some research, but was not successful. i bought this TV about 1 yr and 6 months ago. and the Dumb warranty is only for 1 YEAR!! I'm just curious if there are any other situations similar to mine, or any suggestions on what I can do. I found this place, but they are charging about $120 just to look at the problem.

Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated. I am in the Sacramento area if that helps.

either backlight or ballast or inverter as they call it.some sonys ballast is part of lcd.you need someone to check and make sure which one is defective.
