Firends, I live in Argentina and I have a Sony DVD Player bought in UK; model DVP-NS78H. It works in PAL and NTSC, but I need to "force" it to work always in NTSC, because if not, I see images in black and white (pictures, for example).
Any idea?
Do you know any menu I can access to force it?

Thanks!

Claudio

Remember that Argentina uses a special variant of the 625-line PAL system. The color subcarrier frequency is about 3,582 MHz instead of 4,433 MHz as in other countries with 625-line PAL.

Further details can be found in the ITU-R BT.1700 standard, which can be freely downloaded from www.itu.int after registration.

Probably, the simplest method would be using the SCART connector of the DVD player and supplying RGB signals instead of composite video to the tv. Then NTSC or PAL doesn't matter any more, the only possible problem is the different vertical frequencies (60 or 50 Hz).

Search Google for converting pal to ntsc. I read and downloaded a free program that uses you PC to do it for you. I'd post the program but am away from my home pc.
