when i want to record something,it's in black and white.
When A/V is selected,tv is in black and white.

check to see if output of dvd/vcr is set to s-video, if so set it to video and see what happens

i've change the dvd/vcr output in video,s-video and rvb.it' always the same thing: black and white.i've change the wire:scart and RCA and it's the same on the others plugs.
do you have something else for this trouble ?

try replacing ct302 and ct332 with 15pf 50v capacitors.

i've found a data sheet for the tv this afternoon,but i'm not sure it is good!
i can't find ct302 and ct332.
precision: i'm french and i don't know what "ct" means.
could you translate it please (if it's possible) ?

"ct" is crystal trimmer, they are orange and silver in colour and look like small potentiometers. they are located on the A board in the the chroma processing circuit, your english is fantastic, my french is terrible.

Ok, i've found ct332 but not ct302 . i saw ct331! Are you sure it's on A board and not B board ?
So, if i must change these two parts by 2 15pf 50v capacitors, i can't do this now,i must buy them, and i don't know how many times it could take.
And could you give me a data sheet for this tv because this one i've downloaded is not complete.(only D board)

i dont have the service manual from the set, if ct302 is not fitted don't worry about it, try changing ct332 first and see if it cures the problem. if it doesn't change ct331 to 15pf cap, i got the information from a sony service bulletin that covers all variations of the set which would explain the difference, the caps should be available from any hobby electronics shop.

and it's always the same.
