My wife has a $100 flat iron and it keeps changing heats on its own. On one of the ceramic pad there is a white rectangle component mounted by a clip. It has 2 wires runing out of it that are running to 2 screws on the pcb that are marke as fuse. This part looks like a sandstone resistor. Does anyone know what this part is. It has no markings on it at all.
Thanks |

Based on your description, sounds like a thermal fuse? More than likely it is not where the problem is and may be the heating element or a connection issue?
Btw, found a safety recall which may or may not be what you have?
