Here we go again! Wink

Already searched the forums and found that this looks to be the usual IC problem (STK392-040), it's possibly a convergence problem.

I'm not 100% sure and will take a picture of the fault once it's bought over to mine and post it for confirmation from a guru, just to be certain.

I've 'almost' repaired a similar model in the past (here), but gave up in the end after it went 'pear shaped'. A friend of mine has said I can have his one to try again! LOL

Any help is of course always appreciated.

IF IT IS A CONVERGENCE PROBLEM UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE FIT ANYTHING OTHER THAN SAMSUNG SOURCED ICS, THESE SETS ARE UNBELIEVABLY PARTICULAR ABOUT THE STKS FITTED. COPIES MAY GIVE RISE TO FURTHER FAULTS AND IF THEY DO WORK AT FIRST WILL PROBABLY FAIL AGAIN AFTER A VERY SHORT TIME.

Can you recommend anywhere to get a resonably priced STK392-040 IC's specific for Samsung Televisions?

I've noticed that 'copies' can be gotten for around $14 for the pair. I've heard that I'm looking at somewhere around $80 for the pair for Samsung models... Is that correct, if so, where should I start looking.

I'm in the UK BTW, should it make any difference.

Got the back off it today.

Looks a little more involved than my last set. Gotta pul quite a bit out to get to them.

I think that link is the first time I've seen STK392-040 specific for a model. I will go with them though I think.

Seems quite a lot more expensive, but going on your recommendation and I gather they've worked well for you in the past.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll report back once complete! Wink

Don't forget to check the 3.9 ohm resistors and pico fuses.

Would I be right in saying it looks like this -

And that I need to get a multimeter either side to make sure it is 3.9 still.

Sorry for my perhaps silly question, but am in the proces of learning still! Wink

All in bits at the moment soldering the STK392-040's to the board.

Which resistors are the 3.9 ones to check before I put it all back together?

Anyone?
