Hello,
I am trying to repair a Westinghouse LCD monitor with a non-functioning backlight. I'm fairly certain I've identified the part that needs to be replaced, but I can't find a source. It is a small rectangular black chip that looks similar to an IC. It has four legs on two sides (eight total). There are two of these chips, apparently one per CFL backlight based on the board layout. I've been told it may be an optic isolator or some type of voltage regulator. Here is the number stamped on the top of the chip:
P605
BD7B12
I would appreciate any advice, whether it be on what this part is exactly or where I can get a new one. Thanks! |

Too broad of a number--may be a house part number? Is there any logo on the IC package?
... it may be some sort of a driver or perhaps dual FET drivers?
You may have better luck in finding the inverter (complete) rather than sourcing individual components. |

| Hey, thanks for your help. It does have a manufacturer's logo- it is a stylized 'A' inside of a circle. I did find a source for the whole board, but it is ~$100 so I thought I'd give this a try first. I'll try to get a pic up. Hopefully my login will work, my first post displayed as 'Guest.' |

Aha, I see the logo & I was not too far off 
The logo belongs to an outfit called Alpha&Omega semiconductor LTD

Your actuall part number is: AOP605 & is in fact a dual Mosfet in a DIP package.

.. how to get one is probably another story by itself? Also there is a possibility of other problems causing it to oveheat?
