I am making a project with a ethernet cord, I wanted to know if you can help me figure how to get the LED light to turn on when I press the button to turn the ethernet connection off. I sent a picture to help show what I mean...

Just use a switch with 2 seperate contacts.
e.g. a switch wich 2 * on-off-on connections.
e.g.:
These switches are also available in a button-like-shape, but couldn't find a picture just now.
This way your "ethernet-circuit" and "led-circuit" are completely separated.
