anyone replace laser for dvd player P05094033AD

dvd laser i was told is weak and does not play DVD's, the cd's work fine Laser is cleaned manually, with alcohol and a q-tip, however clean to begin with as it is an 2006 model..does anyone have a replacement and the correct method to change it..
will consider sending the unit out if given a good price to repair it...in raleigh nc area, maybe someone local if possible?
