Hi everyone,
My TV set (JVC N Series AV 20NMG3B) had a problem with the anode cap which was causing a hissing sound and an ozone smell, although after heating up the sound would stop. At around the time this started, it also started switching off unceremoniously, with the on-timer LED blinking which i've come to think that maybe it could have been as a result of the anode cap problem, you know, going into protection mode. Since then, i've replaced the suction cap which was problematic and the hissing has gone away but the switching off issue has not gone away. All the other components are okay although the H.O.T still measures a high voltage which is most likely cause for the failure to come on. I've tried leaving the set for 24 hours unplugged hoping the I.C would discharge but it still wont come on. What is the minimum time for this discharge, or is there a way around this problem ? I've already tried replacing the H.O.T.
Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks. |
