Zenith a27a11d No pic/sound

I received this set for free and I'm trying to fix it.

I think I have two separate problems:
1) I get no picture or sound when the cable is hooked up. Also, when the cable is hooked up and I try to have it auto-program the channels, it states that there is no cable signal detected.
2) When I hook up a DVD player using the RCA inputs, I only get sound and no picture.

I can see all the menu functions on the screen, fwiw.
