how to check rotation

Hi! Help me to understand how to check rotation on a hermetic three phase refrigeration compressor for start up.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You can usually hear it running.
A second method is to check the current draw of the compressor.
You should see a high current draw when it starts and it should drop once it is running. No current draw means no running.
