Greetings,
I have been asked to fix an Aiwa CX-800Z compact stereo for a friend. The CD spindle motor doesn't come on. I haven't found any service documentation online, so I don't have the pinouts for the motor connector.
Suspicious is a little lake of hard black substance near the electrolytics for the power supply. Can anyone tell me if this is a normal way to tie down these caps (unlikely), or I have a massive cleanup to do?

Sounds like normal securing method to me.
