We've got a JVC VCR model HR-J646 MS and would appreciate assistance: when viewing the recorded tape, it works fine for a while and suddendly you get jagged lines but correct sound. Thought there was somthing wrong with the tape, tried another one and got the same results. What's wrong? Any suggestions for causes and possible repairs warmly welcomed. Thanks Smile

Excuse me for my bad english...
If sound is OK, probably only video head alignment is wrong!
You have to check alignment of tape and video head by turn "guidanastro?" (tape in and tape out of video head. For best alignment you need of oscilloscope to see (check) waveform of FM packet signal on videohead amplifier output...is a problem to explain fine, for me...
..so check tape alignment
good luck!
