Hello,
I am new at this but have been involved with electronic for a long time and have a basic understanding of them.
I have a Sony Projection TV that is not working and I ordered the service manual in the effort to fix it.

Can some one tell me what the red arrows with numbers pointing to various nodes on teh schematic mean and how to test properly?
Thanks!

osilisope test points.the numbers are ref. no. to there web.site which you do not have acses to unless you work for them. the best is to stat at the psu work your way along and test every thing ,the problim is more than likely with the vidio decoder chip as when it over heats it brakes down ........ simtoms of this light no pichtere or black pichtere or white pichtere i can not give you my email aderss for ovis resons but if you post yours and which ref nomber you whont , no more then 2 or 3 ill email them to u.

Thank You Gest.
I am working on a Sony KP-51HW40 Projection TV.
When I power up the TV there are a series of clicks from the relays on the power supply and the standby LED flashes 6 times which indicates a Low OCP/OVP, +5 line overloaded or shorted on A,B board.
I believe the problem to be with the power supply.
Since when I disconnect all connections from the power supply leaving only the standby connector and and plug in the AC line, I do not get the correct output voltages.
Is this a inccorect way to test?

Correction.
I do get the correct voltages, but the relay shuts down.
This is true with or without the connectors attached to the power supply with the exception of the stanby connector.

when I am working on a Projection TV i can swop parts ,something that is little hard for u but another thing to remeber is the psu is a so called "intelegent" psu
if there is no load it will switch off if it is working or not.(((test with 24v globess -low 1w or less)))... iv not worked on the KP-51HW40
but u could take a pc psu to test the rest of the Projection TV.

i bilt a sepret psu to test with 1.3 ,3, 3.3,5,6,9,10,12,14,15,18,20,22,22.5,24,25,30,32,5 poritive and negitive out
with curent setting on ever indivigal voltage ,it took me obout a 5week to bild but it was worth it.

but from whot u say I believe the problem to be with the power supply.

but then again it could be something eles that is bring-in the psu down
like the hozotile ic or one of the driver transisters (they on a heat sink and they a b##### to test because some times
the onley way to test them is to take them out)

i iv been of some help.
