JVC UX-1

[Minikurre]

So my friend gave me JVC UX-1 micro component system for repair. My starting point is this:

So is it even possible to connect those two by using black belt in picture, do I need some spare part or is this doomed project already? How do I proceed?

1) Get a replacement 'black belt' with connectors on BOTH ends;
or
2) Get a replacement connector and wire it to the 'black belt' correctly;
or
3) 'hard-wire' between the two units and get rid of 'black belt' all together.

So didn't find any replacement parts for jvc where I live. Is there any possibility to get link for black belt which is for sale and can be shipped to Finland?
