I have this same TV with the SAME problem. It isn't even 3 years old yet...I've got an OLD Sanyo 25" that's still kicking 10Yrs later. I sure would like some advice on this problem as I'm game to replace it unless it's a cheap fix. I've repaired numerous PC's including soldering etc the PCBs so I can fix it myself if i knew what was wrong. Local repair guy doesn't seem to have my time of day...not even a free estimate.

I have the same problem with the 27pt543s37a. There was a problem with counterfeit electrolyte in aluminum electrolytics a couple years ago; cost Dell $300M (go look at last year's 10K report). Could possibly be the root cause of all these cheap Philips TeeVees going dead.
