Graetz Grazioso 41016 volume button

Dear all,
I've got a problem with my graetz grazioso 41016. Someone overturned the volumebutton, so I can't make the volume go up or down anymore. It used to 'stop' at a certain point. All the way left was muted, and all the way right was full volume. But now I can turn the button all the way through and it doesn't have that 'stop' point anymore. I think it might be the spring, but I'm not sure. And I guess it might be an easy fix. I've got all the manuals and technical drawings but I'm too inexperienced with all this technical stuff that I'm affraid to mess it up even more.

Does somebody here had the same problem or does anyone know how to fix it?
